It's official. The City of Gothenburg chooses the edtech-company IST to supply the new Administrative IT system for childcare and school. The agreement, valid for up to 12 years, means that IST will take on new employees.
– Gothenburg is growing, and it places extra high demands on a well-functioning municipal service. We look forward to providing both employees, students and guardians with a new, modern solution that contains exactly what is needed to meet the school's challenges in the best way, Says Björn Andersson, CEO of IST Sweden.
The agreement is valid for up to 12 years and includes all municipal schools and schools in the city of Gothenburg. In total it is about 107 000 children/students, 3 900 employees and 160 000 guardians who will have access to digital services connected to the system.
– IST was the supplier who presented a system that both held the best quality and the lowest price based on the requirements and needs of the city's training activities. With their knowledge and long experience of developing IT support for the school, we are convinced that this will be a good cooperation. Now we take the next step and start work together with the IST and the city's educational activities, introduce the new student administrative Service, "says Katarina Öryd, Head of Education and Welfare at Intraservice.
New digital opportunities
The system procured is IST Administration, a modern and user-friendly solution that simplifies the interaction between the roles that lead and administer the daily activities of the school. The system supports everything from annual planning to daily administration and digital communication between school and students/guardians.
"This means that students and guardians will have access to e-services where they can make their choices and take note of the data relating to the school. For example, administrators and teachers will have more automated processes that save time and provide better analysis opportunities for school leaders and management, "says Camilla Gustavsson, Product Manager at IST.

– With the agreement we will complement our organization with even more employees, and we also aim to establish a completely new office in Gothenburg, "says Björn Andersson.
